SHIPPING & DIGITAL DELIVERY POLICY

"Harberd & Co" is a trading name of Harberd & Co Ltd

1. PHYSICAL SHIPPING LOCATIONS

We ship physical products from the United Kingdom.

We currently offer delivery to:

  • The United Kingdom

  • The European Union (EU)

  • Selected international destinations

Available delivery options and costs will be displayed at checkout.

2. PROCESSING TIMES (PHYSICAL GOODS)

Orders are usually processed within 1–3 working days, excluding weekends and UK public holidays.

Processing times may be longer during busy periods, events, or promotional sales.

3. DELIVERY TIMES (PHYSICAL GOODS – ESTIMATES)

United Kingdom

  • Standard Delivery: 2–5 working days

  • Tracked Delivery: 1–3 working days (where available)

European Union

  • Estimated delivery: 5–14 working days

Rest of World

  • Estimated delivery: 7–21 working days

Delivery times are estimates only and delays may occur due to postal services, customs processing, or circumstances outside our control.

4. SHIPPING COSTS (PHYSICAL GOODS)

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on destination, weight, size, and selected delivery method.

5. VAT & EU ORDERS (PHYSICAL GOODS – VAT OSS / IOSS)

EU VAT OSS

Harberd and Co Ltd is registered for EU VAT OSS, allowing us to collect and remit VAT on eligible EU physical goods at checkout.

  • VAT is charged at the customer’s local EU VAT rate

  • VAT is displayed at checkout where applicable

IOSS – Low-Value Goods (€150 or less)

For EU orders valued at €150 or less, we may use the Import One Stop Shop (IOSS) system:

  • VAT is collected at checkout

  • No additional VAT should be charged on delivery

Orders Over €150

For EU orders with a value above €150:

  • VAT and customs duties may be charged by the destination country

  • These charges are the responsibility of the customer

6. CUSTOMS, DUTIES & IMPORT CHARGES

For international orders:

  • Customs authorities may apply additional inspections or fees

  • We are not responsible for customs delays

  • Any duties, import VAT, or handling charges are the responsibility of the recipient unless otherwise stated at checkout

7. DIGITAL PRODUCTS (EBOOKS)

Digital Delivery

  • Ebooks are delivered digitally and do not require shipping

  • Delivery is provided via:

    • A download link, or

    • Access through your user account (where applicable)

  • Digital access is usually provided immediately after payment confirmation

8. VAT ON EBOOKS (UK & EU)

United Kingdom

  • Ebooks sold to UK customers are zero-rated for VAT in accordance with UK VAT legislation

  • VAT will not be charged on UK ebook purchases

European Union

  • Ebooks are classified as digital services

  • VAT is charged based on the customer’s location

  • VAT is applied at the customer’s local EU VAT rate

  • VAT is collected at checkout using VAT OSS

Customers Outside the UK & EU

  • Local taxes may apply depending on the customer’s country

  • These taxes are calculated where supported by Shopify

9. DIGITAL CONTENT & CONSUMER RIGHTS

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013:

  • By purchasing a digital product, you agree to immediate digital delivery

  • You acknowledge that your right to cancel is lost once download or access begins

If a digital product is faulty or not as described, your statutory rights still apply.

10. TRACKING (PHYSICAL GOODS)

Where tracking is available, tracking details will be sent by email once your order has been dispatched.

11. LOST, DELAYED OR DAMAGED PHYSICAL GOODS

Goods remain our responsibility until delivered to you.

If your order is lost, significantly delayed, or arrives damaged, please contact support@harberdandco.co.uk so we can resolve the issue.

12. EVENT & POP-UP SALES

For purchases made in person at events, markets, book fairs, or pop-up shops:

  • Physical items are usually supplied at the point of sale.

  • Digital products (such as ebooks) are delivered separately where applicable.

Please note:

  • In-person purchases are not covered by the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

  • Change-of-mind returns are not legally required for in-person purchases.

  • Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 still apply. Items must be as described, of satisfactory quality, and fit for purpose.

If an item purchased in person is faulty or misdescribed, please contact support@harberdandco.co.uk with proof of purchase so we can arrange a refund or replacement where required by law.

13. ADDRESS ACCURACY

Please ensure your delivery address is correct at checkout.

We are not responsible for delivery issues caused by incorrect or incomplete address details provided by the customer.
